Rules of Entry

  1. The Awards are open to any interactive business or project that has launched, been re-developed or shown substantial, measurable progress during the judging period, which runs from Thursday 29th March 2007 to Tuesday 25th March 2008 inclusive.
  2. Projects may be entered into more than one category as appropriate, but an entry fee must be paid for each category entered. The majority of categories are open to entries from any interactive medium or combination of media; only in the "Best Use of..." categories is entry restricted to the specific medium.
  3. The judges reserve the right to re-categorise entries if they think another category would be more suitable. However, they cannot be expected to routinely re-categorise incorrectly entered projects.
  4. Sponsors are not allowed to enter the category that they are sponsoring.
  5. Entries must be made online using the official entry template. Each category has a different template, which can be found on the category pages of the Awards website www.nmaawards.co.uk. Entries will not be accepted by any other means.
  6. The completed entry template may be accompanied by supporting material if necessary - for example a PDF, Word, Excel, Powerpoint or Jpeg file, which can be uploaded online along with your completed entry template. Please bear in mind, however, that the first round of judging will be done solely on the basis of the information supplied in the entry template.
  7. Please make sure any access details and passwords needed for judging are supplied, that they work, and that they will continue to work until the Awards Ceremony. The second stage of judging will be based on the judges viewing the projects. Sites that cannot be viewed will be eliminated from the judging.
  8. If you are entering an iTV project, please make sure you supply your entries, where possible, in a format that will allow the judges to interact with the content in the manner that was intended for the viewers. The judges can review ads in a range of "interactive" file formats, including Macromedia Director and Flash, or models created using eMuse, Ensequence, or Chello iTV software. Content should be submitted on CD or DVD. These files will be played off a PC and reviewed on a TV screen with the interactivity controlled, where possible, with a Sky remote control. Please post your CD/DVD after entering online, quoting your 4-digit entry number.
  9. Extended Entry Deadline: Monday 7th April 2008. Payments must be cleared by this date.
  10. Any entry may be withdrawn for any reason up until 5.30pm on Monday 7th April 2008 upon written request to the organisers. However the entry fee is non-refundable.
  11. Entries cannot be returned by post. However if requested by email to nma.awards@centaur.co.uk at the time of submission, entries will be available for collection after the Awards Ceremony. Please call prior to collection. NMA accepts no responsibility for loss of or damage to material submitted.
  12. The judges' decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding them.
  13. Winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London on Thursday 26th June 2008. To book a table please complete the online dinner booking form on the Book a Table page and submit with payment. All payments must be received by Thursday 26th June 2008. Dinner bookings will not be considered to be confirmed until payment has been received in full.

Commercial Confidence

It is very important that you fully complete the entry template. In particular, details of return on investment should be provided. The more information you supply, the better the judges will be able to assess your entry.

For the purposes of judging, all information provided will be treated in the strictest confidence and will only be viewed by the judging panel and the Chairman of Judges. However, in order to compile the 'Book of the Night' Awards supplement, some information may be needed from the winners' written entries. Any information that is commercially sensitive and which may not be used in the 'Book of the Night' should be clearly marked 'judges eyes only'.
